Production/DJ duo Deep Dish has signed a new management deal with Jorge Hinojosa of Caliente Entertainment in Los Angeles. The duo — Ali “Dubfire” Shirazinia and Sharam Tayebi — was previously managed by Washington, D.C.-based Kurosh Nasseri of Nasseri Music Business Solutions, who also handled the duo’s legal affairs. Effective immediately, New York-based Jennifer Justice of Carroll, Guido & Groffman, LLP, will handle Deep Dish’s legal services.
Deep Dish has been making music since the early ’90s. The duo’s two independent labels — Deep Dish Records and Yoshitoshi Recordings — have spawned several underground hits and introduced artists like Brian “BT” Transeau and Alcatraz to the global dance/electronic community. As remixers, Deep Dish have reworked tracks by Janet Jackson, Madonna, Pet Shop Boys and Everything But The Girl, among others. At the 44th annual Grammy Awards, the duo took home the award for best remixed recording, non-classical, for Dido’s “Thank You.” In 1998, Deconstruction/BMG issued Deep Dish’s debut studio album, “Junk Science.”
According to Hinojosa, who also manages the career of Ice T, Deep Dish is currently working on a sophomore album. Hinojosa says that while no label is confirmed to release the album, several overtures have been made.
Hinojosa’s Caliente partner, Caresse Henry, manages the career of Madonna, among others.
