Prince Gains His Catalog in Deal With Warner Bros.; New Album Coming
“The Breakdown” is the first music to appear after Prince announced his new Warner Bros. deal, which seems him return to the label after an 18 year hiatus. The new venture gives Prince control of his old catalog and will see the re-release of his 1984 album “Purple Rain,” which celebrates its 30th anniversary this year. Other planned re-issue projects will follow and Prince will issue a new album too, although it is unclear if that title is a part of the deal.
