During his royal tour of the Caribbean on Wednesday (Nov. 30), Prince Harry came face-to-face with pop royalty when he met Rihanna in her native Barbados.
The “Work” singer joined Prince Harry to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Barbados’ independence from Great Britain. The meeting took place at the country’s Toast to the Nation ceremony celebrating national achievements.
According to the U.K.’s Daily Express, Rihanna — who greeted the prince in a knee-length pale blue dress for the event — sat at the same table as Guyana President David Granger, in close proximity to Harry’s table.
The prince and Rihanna were both due to make appearances later in the evening at a mega-concert at Kensington Oval cricket ground in Bridgetown — in front of a crowd of 20,000 people — featuring some of the best Bajan talent performing in honor of Barbados’ freedom.
