Primary Wave Music Publishing has entered into a co-publishing venture with Grammy Award-winning producer Matt Serletic and his company, Emblem Music Group.
Serletic has co-written songs recorded by Matchbox Twenty, Rob Thomas, Willie Nelson and Collective Soul. He produced Carlos Santana and Rob Thomas’ duet “Smooth,” which won the 1999 Grammy for record of the year, on Santana’s “Supernatural,” which was album of the year. He has also worked as a producer with Aerosmith, Celine Dion, Matchbox Twenty and Rob Thomas.
Under the deal, Primary Wave and Emblem will work together to build a creative home for songwriters, with a particular focus on discovering and developing new talent. In addition, Primary Wave will provide a variety of marketing and administration services, including music consulting services, for Serletic’s songwriting interests.
Primary Wave chairman/CEO Larry Mestel announced the deal today (Feb. 19).
