In the Douglas Hart (The Jesus and Mary Chain) directed clip, the Primals’ frontman Bobby Gillespie and Ferreira face off against a liquid light-show backdrop looking every bit their “party animal” reputations. There’s a whiff of inspiration from Serge Gainsbourg and Brigitte Bardot’s icy-cool collabs from the ‘60s.
It’s the first track lifted from Primal Scream’s eleventh studio album, Chaosmosis, due March 18 on the band’s own First International label.
Ferreira recently spoke with Billboard about the sessions for “Where The Light Gets In,” which was produced by Gillespie, bandmate Andrew Innes and Bjorn Yttling (Peter Bjorn and John).
“The reason I like working with them is because there’s absolutely no pressure,” she said. “It’s nice to walk in somewhere and they’re not like, ‘Okay, your label is harassing me about this and that.’ I set it up without anyone else involved, so we just sit and write in a room and there’s no pressure.”
