The National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences today announced the performers and presenters for the 53rd annual Grammy Awards’ pre-Grammy Awards telecast on Feb. 13. The show will take place from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. PT at the Los Angeles Convention Center and will be streamed live on www.grammy.com/live and www.youtube.com/thegrammys.
The cavalcade of stars slated to perform include Buddy Guy, Cyndi Lauper, Mavis Staples, Trombone Shorty, Betty Wright, Kenny Wayne Shepherd — all Grammy nominees.
This year’s hosts, Bobby McFerrin and Esperanza Spalding, are also nominees receiving nods for Best Classical Crossover Album and Best New Artist, respectively.
Other nominated artists performing include Afro-Colombian hip hop trio ChocQuibTown, American roots singer Maria Muldaur and jazz musician Kirk Whalum.
Presenting the first Grammy Awards of the night in 98 categories are nominees Laurie Anderson, Sara Bareilles, BT, Kathy Griffin, and Wayne Wallace.
Following the Pre-Telecast Ceremony, the 53rd Annual GRAMMY Awards will be broadcast live on the CBS Television Network from 8:00 – 11:30 p.m ET/PT.
