P.O.D. has revealed the track list for its new, Glen Ballard-produced studio album, “Testify,” due Jan. 24 via Atlantic. First single “Goodbye for Now” is No. 20 this week on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock chart; its accompanying video was shot last month in Los Angeles with director Meiert Avis (U2, Avril Lavigne).
As previously reported, “Testify” features two collaborations with Hassidic reggae rapper Matisyahu, “Roots in Stereo” and “Strength of My Life.” Veteran hip-hop act the Boo-Yaa T.R.I.B.E. guests on “On the Grind.” Another track, “Teachers,” was released in demo form on last month’s “The Warriors Vol. 2” EP.
“Testify” is the follow-up to 2003’s “Payable on Death,” which debuted at No. 9 on The Billboard 200. “To us, that word speaks for itself. It’s powerful,” frontman Sonny Sandoval says of the album title. “In our 14 years together, that’s what we’ve been doing. We’ve been testifying to the things that we believe in and that we’ve come to know.”
Having just concluded its Fall Brawl tour with Staind and Taproot, P.O.D. is plotting to return to the road early next year.
