Home video distributor Platinum Disc Corp. now has a new president. With the retirement of president Dave Thompson, officially announced today (Aug. 18), Tim Clott has been named the new head of the company.
Thompson founded Platinum Disc in 1989, and has grown the company from a music CD distributor to a home video distributor.
The company, which merged with Echo Bridge Entertainment this February, has a catalog of about 2,000 films. Recent distribution deals have involved Hallmark Entertainment, Nu Image and West Coast Film Partners.
Clott is well known as the former CEO of Lyrick Studios, which owns the distribution rights for The Wiggles and Veggie Tales. He also worked as executive VP of Paramount’s home entertainment division.
