Cuban rapper Pitbull’s sophomore album “El Mariel” is set for a late June release via TVT. The set features appearances from Mario, Twista and Lil Jon, as well as production from Pharrell, Lil Jon and Mr. ColliPark, among others.
The first single is “Bojangles.” A Spanish-language disc will arrive six weeks after the album is issued and will feature several Spanish tracks, in addition to three cuts from “El Mariel.”
The rapper is also continuing in his A&R role with Bad Boy Latino, a joint label formed last August by Sean “Diddy” Combs and producer Emilio Estefan via Warner Music Latina.
Pitbull’s 2004 debut effort “M.I.A.M.I. (Money Is a Major Issue)” bowed at No. 14 on The Billboard 200 and has sold 566,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
