Pitbull and Ke$ha, RCA Records label mates and recent touring partners, have gleefully linked up for Mr. 305’s new single, “Timber.” The track, which was unveiled on Monday (Oct. 7) during Ryan Seacrest’s syndicated radio show, will delight pop fans, lumberjacks and harmonica diehards as far as the eye can see.
Yes, “Timber” is highlighted by the screeching harmonica hook and the line “It’s going down, I’m yelling timber” within Ke$ha’s earnestly delivered chorus, but the single also features some of Pitbull’s most off-the-wall boasts about his jet-setting lifestyle and suave persona. “I have ’em like Miley Cyrus, clothes off/Twerkin’ in their bras and thongs!” he raps, while later declaring, “We about to clown. Why?/’Cause it’s about to go down!”

Pitbull first confirmed the release of “Timber” on Twitter last month, and told Seacrest that the inclusion of the harmonica on the song was partially inspired by the success of Avicii’s country-tinged smash “Wake Me Up!” “I’ve been all around the world touring and it was a record from Avicii that was so big and had this country feel to it,” says Pitbull. “This record came down produced by Dr. Luke, Cirkut and Sermstyle, and I said, ‘Man I need to get my hands on that.’ And being on tour with Ke$ha, we hit it off, and what better than to have a crazy, sexy, cool, beautiful woman on it with me.”
“Timber” is now available at digital retailers, and Pitbull and Ke$ha will resume their tour in Australia on Oct. 30 in Brisbane. Last April, Pitbull assisted Ke$ha by hopping on a remix of her “Warrior” single “Crazy Kids.”
