Pitbull has parted ways with his longtime manager Charles Chavez, sources confirm to Billboard. Chavez and Pitbull (real name Armando Pérez) have worked together since 2007. Not long after, in 2008, Pitbull released his fourth album, Rebelution, which included the breakthrough hit “I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho).”
Charles Chavez’s Latium Entertainment Signs Venture Partnership With RCA, Sony International
Sources say the split was amicable. Pitbull is currently on tour in China and has not announced future management plans. Pitbull’s recently wrapped co-headlining tour with Enrique Iglesias was a frequent sellout, with tickets for two North American legs totaling $39 million in Billboard BoxScore receipts from 36 performances.
Chavez, on his end, remains CEO of Latium Entertainment, which in February entered into a formal venture with Sony Music International with distribution from RCA Records.
Artists include Magic!, which signed to Latium/RCA in June, plus newcomers like Toronto rapper BENJ, a.k.a. Jordan Benjamin, and pop-rock artist Heymous Molly.
