Following a successful performance of the National Anthem at Super Bowl 2018 — even while battling the flu — P!nk commented on the experience on Twitter Sunday (Feb. 4).
“All of your prayers and well wishes and candles got me through today,” she tweeted, alongside a selfie with her daughter. “Thank you so much for all the love and support.”
She also took the opportunity to clarify some things about her “Star-Spangled Banner” performance, explaining that what she took out of her mouth just before singing was a throat lozenge, and that while her vocals had to fight through illness, she was still, well, at the Super Bowl.
When someone tweeted at her to criticize her performance, she shot back: “At least I suck while singing our countries national anthem, and you just suck by yourself on a dirty couch.” The original tweet she was responding to has, unsurprisingly, since been deleted.
