Pink Floyd has confirmed that the band will release its first new album in 20 years. The new set, titled “The Endless River,” will be released in October, according to a statement from Columbia Records.

“Work is still in progress, but more details to come at the end of the summer,” Pink Floyd said in the statement via Columbia.
“The Endless River” will arrive just in time to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Pink Floyd’s last album, 1994’s “The Division Bell.” Pink Floyd describes the release as “mainly ambient and instrumental music” based on the 1993-94 recording sessions from “The Division Bell,” featuring David Gilmour, Nick Mason and Richard Wright, who passed away in 2008.
Roger Waters, who left the group in 1985, is not involved, according to the Associated Press.
“The Endless River” is produced by Gilmour with Phil Manzanera, Youth and recording engineer Andy Jackson.
News of a new Pink Floyd album hit the Internet on Saturday when Gilmour’s wife, Polly Samson, mysteriously tweeted that a fresh album was on the way, calling it Wright’s “swansong and very beautiful.”
