Phylicia Fant has been promoted to senior vice president, publicity & lifestyle of Warner Bros. Records. Liz Morentin, WBR’s new evp of communications and media, made the announcement. Fant will report directly to Morentin out of the label’s Burbank, CA headquarters.
“Phylicia is an inventive thinker and a talented media expert who encourages everyone around her to excel,” Morentin said in a statement. “She is incredibly dedicated and goes above and beyond to help our artists reach stardom. I’m thrilled to promote Phylicia to this well-deserved role.”
Fant joined WBR in 2011 as vp publicity & lifestyle and previously worked at UMG’s Universal Republic and Motown Records. She is a member of the National Academy of Recordings Arts & Sciences and the LA Chapter Foundation’s Committee Member. Fant also curates events at the Soho House and Neuehouse and is a member of Entertainment Publicist Professional Society, Music Unites and Women in Entertainment Empowerment Network. She also created the annual Honorable Women in Music Event, founded and launched the annual Entertainment Summit at Spelman College and sits on the advisory board of the International Black Film Festival and the SBDC Film & Entertainment at Clayton State University and University of Georgia.
