Phish’s Dec. 6, 1996, performance at Las Vegas’ Aladdin Theatre will be released Nov. 20 on CD via the band’s own JEMP Records.
Beyond the three-disc audio CD, the group is making available a boxed set with a DVD featuring footage from the show and a 40-page bound photo book. Fans who pre-order from Phish’s Web site will receive the bonus CD “Road to Vegas,” featuring tracks taped during other shows on the band’s fall 1996 tour.
The Vegas gig, the band’s debut in the city, is most notable for its encore, a 30-minute version of “Harpua” which segues in and out such tracks as Elvis Presley’s “Suspicious Minds.” The sequence features guest turns from Les Claypool and Larry LaLonde of Primus and the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band’s John McEuen.
