Pete Tong, one of BBC Radio 1’s most popular DJs, will headline the Billboard After Party at the London West Hollywood in Los Angeles to an exclusive group of industry executives, influencers and recording artists. Tong will take the stage after opening DJ Sean Glass, owner of WIN Records and home to Grammy-nominated Duke Dumont.
Born in Dartford, England, Tong played his first public gig at the age of 15. He soon moved on to promoting nights before transitioning to becoming a staff writer for Blues + Soul Magazine. Later, he became A&R manager at London Records.
Tong has since gained international recognition for his BBC Radio 1 “Essential Selection” program, which aired from 1991 to 2006. He was also appointed Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the New Years Honours List for his services to broadcasting and music. More recently, Tong launched “Evolution,” an all-dance channel on iHeartRadio, as well as a two-hour nightly program on the station, called “Its all Gone Pete Tong”.
The Billboard After Party, produced by MAC Presents, is sponsored this year by Citi and Bud Light Platinum. The event has quickly become a must-attend event for executives, influencers and talent, and will take place for the second year in a row at the London West Hollywood. Last year’s attendees included Prince, the Lumineers, Neil Patrick Harris, Darren Criss, Karmin, Lisa Loeb, Bonnie McKee and more.
This year’s event will feature lite bites provided by Gordon Ramsay, a GIF photo booth, and multiple open bars throughout the venue.
