Pete Davidson has wiped all the images from his Instagram account whilst taking a swipe at trolls and folks who push “negative energy”.
Davidson, a cast member of Saturday Night Live, has been targeted on several occasions since he announced his engagement to Ariana Grande in late June. The attacks flared when, earlier this month, video resurfaced of Davidson joking some months ago regarding the terrorist attack at her 2017 Manchester concert. Grande defended her beau, and she responded once more when fans complained about a tribute to her hubby-to-be, “Pete,” which will appear on her forthcoming album Sweetener. Speculation continues to swirl on problems in the happy camp.
Davidson has had enough and he’s taken the nuclear option with his socials. All the photos are now purged from his Instagram, though he does hint at a possible return.
“No there’s nothing wrong. No nothing happened. No there’s nothing cryptic about anything,” he wrote. “I just don’t wanna be on Instagram anymore. Or on any social media platform. The internet is an evil place and it doesn’t make me feel good. Why should I spend any time on negative energy when my real life is fucking lit. The fact that I even have to say this proves my point. I love you all and I’m sure I’ll be back at some point.”
Grande reiterated Davidson’s comments with her own tweet. “The energy u put out is exactly what u get back, please create a beautiful life for yourselves.”
