U.K. synth-pop duo the Pet Shop Boy has played its biggest indoor British concert as part of a world tour.
The act played songs from the ’80s including “West End Girls,” “Two Divided by Zero” and “It’s a Sin” alongside material from new album “Yes” and a cover of Coldplay’s “Viva la Vida” at the 16,000-capacity Live Nation-promoted O2 Arena show on June 19.
The “Pandemonium” tour has now returned to continental Europe, with a show at Amsterdam Music Hall tonight (June 22).
Last week Pet Shop boys scored a 25th top 10 hit on Billboard Hot Dance Club Songs with “Love Etc.” The duo trails only Madonna (52 top 10 entries) and Janet Jackson (31 entries) for most top 10s on the chart.
Their new album, “Yes” (Astralwerks), was their highest-charting set since 1993’s “Very” in the U.S. “Yes” entered the Billboard 200 at No. 32 on April 29 on first-week sales of just over 14,000.
Pet Shop Boys will tour the U.S. and Canada in August and September.
