Double dose of good news! Perry Farrell shared some great personal news, followed by a little something for the public, in a video posted to his social media accounts on Saturday (March 20).
“I hold in my hands my license to party! It’s my COVID-19 vaccination receipt,” declared the Jane’s Addiction frontman, dressed in blue jeans, a matching denim vest and white sleeveless shirt. “I will see you at Lollapalooza — soon!”
The rocker, who launched Lollapalooza originally as a farewell tour for Jane’s in 1991, had previously hinted at a smaller live show earlier in the month. “How are we doing today? Closer and closer to playing live. We’re getting traction from the vaccines,” he tweeted March 12 along with a photo of himself getting a COVID test. “The inside scoop is August September may actually have plans for an intimate gig somewhere. I still haven’t gotten mine- hence the pesky test swab. But I am anxious to get it. RU?”

The annual music festival was canceled in 2020 due to the global COVID-19 pandemic, citing health and safety concerns. Instead, it relaunched as a four-day virtual event with never-before-seen performance footage from past years, newly recorded sets, and more. Among the new performances was the Jane’s Addition reunion. The band played a brief, socially distanced two-song set for the virtual fest.
As for the 2021 festivities, organizers are hoping for something amazing.
“We will be working hard behind the scenes to deliver Chicago a spectacular celebration of Lollapalooza’s 30th anniversary in the summer of 2021,” promised organizers in their June cancellation announcement. “We can’t wait to celebrate with you.”
Lollapalooza Stockholm is currently set for July 2-4. Headliners include Pearl Jam, Post Malone, DaBaby, Kendrick Lamar and more.
