It’s solo work season in the Pearl Jam camp. Following the recent release of bassist Jeff Ament’s “Tone,” guitarist Stone Gossard plans to release his second solo project in the coming months.
One track from the as-yet-untitled effort, “Your Flames,” can be purchased in both studio and live versions from Pearl Jam’s Web site, which is also home to a dedicated Gossard page featuring live-in-the-studio videos.
Gosard collaborated on the new music with singer/songwriter Pete Droge, vocalist Barb Ireland and multi-instrumentalist Hans Teuber, among others
The project is being tied into Timberland’s Dig It campaign, which promotes environmental activism through music. Gossard will play four October live dates in support of the initiative with his band Hank Khoir, featuring a rotating cast of musicians.
Tickets to those shows will be primarily distributed to people who volunteer for daytime “re-greening” events in each city. A limited number of tickets will be given away with purchase of select Timberland products, while others will be sold through Pearl Jam’s Ten Club fan organization, with proceeds to benefit Conservation International.
Here are the Dig It tour dates:
Oct. 1: Boston (Wilbur Theatre)
Oct. 4: Brooklyn, N.Y. (Warsaw)
Oct. 11: Los Angeles (Avalon Theatre)
Oct. 18: San Francisco (Grand Ballroom)
