A year ago, Paul van Dyk‘s mother and fiance weren’t sure if he’d ever walk or talk again, let alone see the bright lights of a stage. The trance legend fell and damaged his spine during A State of Trance in the Netherlands, and doctors said he’d be lucky if his vital organs pulled through.
Today, van Dyk is not only functional, he’s thriving, and he’s taking his life back one date at a time in the most glorious fashion he knows – by taking the stage with some help from Insomniac as part of the first Dreamstate trance tour, hitting the road Thursday, April 27, in Boston, and culminating in the big daddy Dreamstate festival Saturday, May 27, in San Francisco.
He’s joined on the 12-date run by fellow trance troubadours Alex M.O.R.P.H., Vini Vici, Solarstone, and Heartbeat. To celebrate the momentous occasion, he’s paired the announcement with a new single. “Touched By Heaven” is a call back to trance’s glory days with a rousing rhythm and glittering synth-scape. It’s bright, optimistic and full of life, just like the man who made it.
Tickets for the Dreamstate tour are on sale now. Check out “Touched by Heaven” and full tour dates below.
