“Thank you for your countless messages, videos and well wishes. Paul is still in the hospital for further treatment. Given that he will need more time to recover from his injuries, all PvD performances until mid-June had to be canceled. For details regarding ticket refunds please check the relevant club/promoter website. We appreciate your support and understanding.”
UPDATE (March 5): A representative for Paul van Dyk issued the following statement to Billboard:
“Paul is now fully conscious and under normal care. He did sustain a concussion and cracked vertebrae and must remain under hospital care while his condition improves. We expect him to fully recover and be back on tour soon.”
German trance veteran Paul van Dyk has reportedly been hospitalized after falling from an elevated stage at A State of Trance Festival in Utrecht yesterday (Feb. 27).
Following the incident, EDC Mexico announced that Markus Schulz would replace van Dyk on the festival’s Dreamstate stage.
Billboard has reached out to van Dyk’s reps for further details, but had not heard back at time of publication.
