Paul McCartney has announced the first night of his “Out There” world tour: one night in Boston’s Fenway Park.
The July 9 date will mark his return to Fenway, where he played a pair of shows in August 2009 that set a two-night concert record for the stadium.

No further dates were revealed on Monday, but according to a release, the former Beatle will play both “new spots” and “places of historical significance to Paul” on the upcoming tour.
The debut U.S. “Out There” date lands a month after McCartney headlines the Bonnaroo festival in Manchester, Tenn., in June. Mumford & Sons and Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers will join him atop the four-day event’s lineup.
