After six years of investigations and court proceedings, the final verdict in the corruption cases against LA Coliseum management and Electric Daisy Carnival promoters has been read.
According to a report by LA Weekly, former Coliseum manager Patrick Lynch was the last to receive a sentence, three years of probation for a guilty plea on charges of bribery and corruption to skim $1.8 million in profits from the publicly-owned venue.
The probation is in addition to his already having paid $385,000 in restitution and 1,500 hours of community service performed. Coliseum event manager and accomplice Todd DeStefano was previously sentenced to six months in jail, three months probation, and ordered to pay $500,000.
EDC founder and promoter Pasquale Rotella, and Go Ventures’ promoter Reza Gerami, plead no contest to misdemeanor conflict of interest charges. The former received three years probation and was ordered to pay $150,000, while Gerami received three years probation and was ordered to pay $30,000. Rotella, however, was later cleared of al federal charges.
