Hamburg – Patricia Gläfcke (MA, MBA) is the new director of publishing at Peermusic Classical GmbH in Hamburg. She comes to this position after four years of freelance activity as a cultural manager and six years as managing director of the Hamburg Regional Music Council (Landesmusikrat). Ms. Gläfcke, a musicologist who minored in philosophy and German philology, was born in Bremerhaven in 1975 and studied historical musicology, music ethnology and contemporary music in Cologne, Dublin and Chicago. “My top priority is the strengthening of local music scenes and diversified music cultures,” she said to Billboard.
Patricia Gläfcke takes over the direction of the publishing house from Prof. Dr. Reinhard Flender, who during his 25-year career at Peermusic Classical, has built up an extensive European catalog with prestigious composers such as Mieczyslaw Weinberg, Ahmed A. Saygun, Theo Loevendie and Mathias Spahlinger. He will continue to be involved with the artistic direction of the publishing house in an advisory capacity as Vice President of Classical Music in the Peermusic group.
Peermusic executive director Lars Ingwersen said to Billboard: “We are delighted to have Patricia Gläfcke as the director of our Peermusic Classical Team. At the same time, we are very happy that Prof. Dr. Reinhard Flender will also continue to be on hand in a prominent advisory capacity.”
