With a brand new album due in less than three months, Paramore have given us the first sampling from the highly-anticipated self-titled release. “Now” is a no-nonsense return to form for the Hayley Williams-fronted band — one that’ll likely delight those who got behind jams like “Misery Business.” With Williams’ glossy vocals, there’s always plenty of pop potential, but “Now” is a rock song through and through, driven by pummeling guitars and rallying cries like, “There’s a time and a place to die and this ain’t it.”

Paramore’s fourth studio album, a self-titled effort, is due for an April 9 release on their longtime label, Fueled By Ramen. The official track list (which features a whopping 17 songs) can be viewed via iTunes preorder. It was recorded with producer Justin Meldal-Johnsen, who has previously worked with artists like Beck, Macy Gray, and M83.
The band’s last effort, 2009’s “Brand New Eyes,” was a success from a sales standpoint, moving 762,000 units according to Nielsen SoundScan and spawning hits like “The Only Exception.” However, it saw the leave of founding members Josh and Zac Farro. Paramore will approach their new album as a trio, with bassist Jeremy Davis and guitarist Taylor York alongside singer Hayley Williams.
