With the summer solstice quickly on its way, Pandora has forecasted what songs will rule this season by curating its 2018 Songs of Summer Playlist.
Whether you’re headed to the beach or a cookout, Pandora culled tracks by Bazzi, Maren Morris, Shawn Mendes and everyone in between that make perfect soundtracks for sunny days. To determine their predictions, the streaming platform used data from its Music Genome Project and analyzed common elements of high-performing summer songs according to Billboard chart history. The 26-song playlist features music from an array of genres like hip hop, Latin, and pop.
Many of the current chart-toppers have previously been dubbed song of the summer shoo-ins by Billboard, like Ella Mai’s rapid chart climber “Boo’d Up” and Cardi B’s hot single “I Like It” featuring J Balvin and Bad Bunny.
Drake (“God’s Plan” and “Nice for What”) and Khalid (the Normani-assisted track “Love Lies” and “OTW” with fellow R&B crooners 6lack and Ty Dolla $ign) make repeat appearances with bangers they’ve dropped and been featured on throughout the year thus far. Ahead of Ariana Grande‘s fourth album release in July, her lead single “No Tears Left to Cry” is likely to be enjoyed by people all throughout the summertime. Plus, certain themes like love and carefreeness abound throughout the tracks — so it’s time to take those aspects of life into consideration when the seasons change on June 21.
