LONDON (The Hollywood Reporter) — PACT, the U.K. trade body representing independent producers, said Aug. 10 that it has set up a dedicated children’s and animation policy group.
The organization has recruited entertainment industry executives to work with PACT’s membership and the wider industry to ensure audiences are provided with a diverse range of quality U.K. programming in the children’s and animation sector.
The group will look to build on PACT’s existing animation policy group and focus on the entire range of children’s programming, the trade body said.
The newly expanded group will be chaired by Millimages U.K. chairman Jonathan Peel, who was previously chair of PACT’s animation policy group.
The group also hopes to work with the industry to ensure PACT’s membership is advised on how to utilize new distribution systems and that commissioning is fair and transparent in children’s and animation output.
