Hip-hop mogul Sean “P. Diddy” Combs recently linked up with veteran rocker David Bowie to record a re-make of Bowie’s 1985 track “This Is Not America.” The song will be featured on the Priority soundtrack to the upcoming film “Training Day.”
The movie is set to hit U.S. theaters Sept. 21, while the soundtrack will be released Sept. 11. Other artists who have recorded new material for the set include Nelly, the Lox, Snoop Dogg, Gang Starr, the Clipse featuring the Neptunes, Napalm, Roscoe, Pharoahe Monch, and Dr. Dre. Dre and Snoop will also appear alongside stars Denzel Washington and Ethan Hawke in the drama about undercover policemen.
This isn’t the first time Combs has hooked up with a rock legend on record. “Come With Me,” a collaboration with Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page built on the guitar riff from Zeppelin’s “Kashmir,” reached No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 in July 1998.
