Web-based music retailer/marketing company Insound has tapped Steve Kleinberg as its new CEO. The industry veteran joins from WEA, where he was senior VP of marketing.
Kleinberg takes charge of Insound’s two divisions — the indie-rock Web portal/music retailer at Insound.com, and the grassroots marketing company drillTEAM, whose clients include Rockstar Games, Dreamworks, Capcom, BBC America, Diesel and Cingular Wireless.
Kleinberg is a 20-year veteran of the music industry, having started as a store manager at a Tower Records outlet in New York’s Greenwich Village. In his most recent post at WEA, he was responsible for the production, distribution and marketing of the Rolling STones “4 Flicks” DVD.
