The quintet’s first album in nearly four years was a global effort, written and recorded in Paris, London, Greece, New York, Seattle, and Vancouver, as well as frontman Ryan Tedder’s Patriot Studios in Denver. The sound is said to be bigger and even touch on EDM stylings, with production help from Grammy-winner Paul Epworth, Philippe Zdar, and guest appearances from Adele backup singer Bobbie Gordon (on “Counting Stars”) and Greek harp virtuoso HarpEri. Key tracks include the gospel-flavored lead single “Feel Again” and the anthemic “Something I Need.”
