U.K.-based independents One Little Indian and sister label FatCat Records have signed a new deal with [PIAS] U.K. following the collapse of their former distributor Pinnacle in early December (Billboard.biz, Dec. 4).
The deal will see products from One Little Indians artists such as Bjork, Paul McCartney, Youth and Jesse Malin as well as FatCat’s Sigur Ros, Animal Collective and Brakes return to shelves after the Christmas crash saw thousands of undelivered CDs left in Pinnacle warehouses during music retail’s busiest period.
Almost 1,000 labels were left stranded by the collapse of one of the U.K.’s leading independent distributors.
Dramatico, home to Katie Melua and Jem, was the first to confirm a new distributor, signing with Warner Music’s Alternative Distribution Alliance just days after Pinnacle went into administration (Billboard.biz, Dec. 8).
