New York-based Onda Productions has launched a division to help artists find new ways to promote their work.
Onda is a production, songwriting and music-supervision collective that creates and remixes music for commercials, record labels and fashion shows. The company’s clients include Gucci, the Gap and Old Nav. The new arm, Onda Entertainment, will match artists with career-expanding licensing opportunities. Joining the division is former MCA VP of A&R Tom Sarig.
The first Onda Entertainment project will be an Isley Brothers remix set, “Taken to the Next Phase.” Onda will seek marketing and business strategies for the album, which is due this spring from Epic/Legacy. The set features remixes/performances of Isley songs by ?uestlove (of the Roots), Raphael Saadiq and Stuart “Lenky” Marsden (Sean Paul’s “Get Busy”), among others.
