As the market prepares for an avalanche of big-name Latin releases, this week’s Top Latin Albums chart remained stable, with Enrique Iglesias, Luis Miguel and Prince Royce encoring last week’s positions at No. 1 (“Euphoria” on Universal), No. 2 (“Luis Miguel” on Warner) and No. 3 (“Prince Royce” on Top Spot).
Save for duranguense groups Patrulla 81 coming in at No. 13 with “Te Pido Perdón” and Horóscopos de Durango at No. 17 with “La Guera y La Morena,” there were no debuts on the top 75 of the chart. But on the Hot Latin songs chart, La Arrolladora Banda el Limón’s “Niña de Mi Corazón” finally moved Enrique Iglesias’ “Cuando Me Enamoro” from the No. 1 spot (although Iglesias has risen again in the past months when that has happened).
On the Latin digital songs chart Don Omar led several noteworthy postings. Omar’s “Danza Kuduro” continued its climb, from No. 7 to No. 5, mimicking its rise on the Hot Latin Songs chart. Another Omar track, “Good Looking,” enters the chart at No. 32 with jut under 1,000 downloads. Also new to the chart is Mexican Institute of Sound’s “Alocatel,” at No. 16 with 1700 downloads. The track, from the 2009 album “Soy Sauce,” gained impetus with a twitter campaign and a TV placement. And at No. 48 is N.O.T.A., the acapella group that won NBC’s “The Sing-Off” last Christmas with their version of Camila’s “Todo Cambio.” N.O.T.A. Has been the opener for several of Shakira’s current shows.
