Music download service Omnifone scooped the best mobile music service award for its unlimited MusicStation package at the 13th annual Global Mobile awards.
Held as part of the GSMA Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Omnifone held off competition from AT&T Mobile Music, Bharti Airtel’s Live music on demand, PCCW Mobile HK’s MOOV on mobile and Shazam Entertainment’s Shazam iD to win.
“This is a momentous achievement for Omnifone, exactly a year after we launched,” said CEO Rob Lewis, in a statement.
Other winners on the night included mywaves for best mobile video service and Sony Ericsson’s W910 Walkman phone for best mobile handset. Robert Redford, Will.i.am and Bollywood star Sherlyn Chopra were among the awards presenters.
