Ole Obermann, Sony Music’s evp evp of digital partner development & sales, will be Warner Music Group’s new executive vice president of business development, Billboard has learned. The hire has not been finalized, and neither Sony Music nor Warner Music would confirm the appointment, which will see Obermann relocating to New York from London and will report to WMG CEO Stephen Cooper.

Since WMG’s former COO Rob Wiesenthal departed the company last year, Ron Wilcox has worked as interim head of WMG”s business development while simultaneously working as lead digital counsel.
Obermann joined Sony Music in 2006 and formerly worked at Liquid Digital Media, Walmart.com and BMG Classics & Jazz. In 2013, Sony’s head of digital Dennis Kooker brought Obermann to his team.
