
Lil Nas X might have taken his horse to the Old Town Road, but in Wellesley, Massachusetts, people are taking the Old Town Road straight to their homes.
According to local news outlet, The Swellesley Report, a street sign for “Old Town Road” keeps getting stolen, thanks of course to Lil Nas X’s record-breaking chart topper. The sign swiping has happened about three times since the song burst into the scene.
“The behavior is likely the work of individuals playing pranks, but it costs the Town a lot of time and money to locate, repair — and where the signs and posts are damaged — replace, and reinstall the signs,” says Stephanie Hawkinson, the town’s communications and project manager, told the news outlet.
Currently, all that’s left of the sign at the intersection is a little metal stub. See The Swellesley Report’s photo below.
