Offset, whose real name is Kiari Kendrell Cephus, was pulled over near Atlanta Friday for allegedly making an improper lane change. Upon approaching his vehicle, police smelled marijuana, and after a search, found three handguns, less than an ounce of marijuana, and more than $107,000 in cash, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
The 26-year-old rapper, who is a convicted felon, was arrested for alleged possession of a weapon during a crime and possession of a firearm by a felon. He was also charged with possession of marijuana and an improper lane change, both considered misdemeanors.
Offset was released from Clayton County Jail in Jonesboro, Georgia, after posting $17,000 bail. He is scheduled to appear in court on Sunday.
This isn’t Offset’s first battle with legal issues. He was arrested in 2016 for driving with a suspended license in Atlanta, and spent time behind bars in 2015 after being arrested on drug and gun charges during a concert at Georgia Southern University.
