Winter in Europe is brutal. It’s cold, it’s dark all the time, it probably rains and snows more than the human body can really handle. When summer comes around, it’s a time to celebrate. No wonder Europeans throw such great house and techno music festivals. They’re like tiny slices of paradise, perhaps none so much as Morocco’s Oasis.
Since 2015, Oasis Festival has welcomed electronic music heads into the warm embrace of Marrakech for a few days and, importantly, nights of stellar music in lush environments. This year’s party is headlined by Carl Cox, as well as special back-to-back sets from Chicago house heads Derrick Carter and The Black Madonna, as well as British heroes Actress and Mount Kimbie. Techno tunester Nastia, Berghain resident Rødhåd, and Beats in Space host Tim Sweeney help round out the bill.
The event is proud to announce it’s setting up a third stage for the first time in 2018, which means even more worlds of sight, sound and smell to get lost in. When you’re tired of dancing and drinking in the sun, chill out in one of Oasis’ li’l oases, like a hookah lounge or the chill space of the Moroccan Square. The fest will also feature yoga classes, spots to get all dolled up in henna, and other neat side adventures.
Oasis comes back to sweeten the Marrakech air Sept. 14-16. Tickets for Oasis 2018 are on sale now. Visit the website for more details and information.
