BCBG Max Azria Spring 2012 Collection
VIBE: Max and Lubov Azria created the ultimate in sporty chic with brightly colored dresses complete with a hoodie. Inspired by break dancing of the 90’s, sportswear and color, Max and Lubov have created a collection that makes athletic wear sexy and flirtatious. Perfect for those romantic evenings spent at Equinox.
HOTTEST ITEM:The Daga, a blush silk crepe embroidered maxi dress, shinned with a modern edge. The dress blended the excitement of the 90’s with a nod towards contemporary sportswear with a neon bikini top detail. The delicate blush tones brilliantly contrasted the electric neon and black details. “We always create a story with every collection and this story is about color,” Max explained before the show.
RUNWAY SOUND: “My House” — Hercules And Love Affair
The jittery rambunctious melody brilliantly matched the tribal prints of the collection. Max described the beat to me backstage before the show as “boom boom boom!” He is quite possibly one of the most adorable men in the fashion industry.

Duckie Brown Spring 2012
VIBE: London’s dark and grungy flare invades New York in the Duckie Brown Spring 2012 show. The designers Steven Cox and Daniel Silver provided the old tracksuit with a healthy dose of plastic surgery, completely transforming it with gorgeous fabrics and patterns. Inspired by a mystery man from London, the collection takes form around this man’s style and character. “There is a boy over in London that really inspired this collection,” Steven said backstage before the show. “It is also a continuation of the last collection but using new beautiful fabrics.” Who could this mystery boy be?
ITEM: A brilliant take on the average tee, the pink roses silk T-shirt is a delicate and subtle creation that seems to grow right out of the wearer.
SOUND: “She Said” — Plan B.
The relaxed, sultry and raspy sound matched the nonchalant chicness of the collection.
