Jay Rosenthal has been named senior VP and general counsel of the National Music Publishers’ Assn. He will be based in Washington, D.C., and will report to president and CEO David Israelite.
Most recently, Rosenthal served as the general counsel of the Recording Artists’ Coalition at Washington, D.C., law firm Berliner, Corcoran & Row, LLP. In this position, he represented music industry organizations, songwriters, publishers and independent record labels, including Thievery Corporation, Sweet Honey in the Rock and ESL Records.
Rosenthal also is a professorial lecturer in entertainment law at the George Washington University Law School and an adjunct professor of entertainment law at the Washington College of Law at The American University.
