Top South Korean singer and entertainer Jung Ji-hoon, better known to fans around Asia as Rain, revealed Wednesday that he will be starring in the Warner Bros. movie “Ninja Assassin.”
“Ninja Assassin” is scheduled to begin filming in March, and will be directed by James McTeigue (“V for Vendetta”) and produced by Andy and Larry Wachowski (“The Matrix”).
Jung became one of Korea’s biggest stars in the Asian region when managed by Seoul-based JYP Entertainment, selling an estimated 2 million copies of his four albums outside his home country.
He left JYP and formed his own management company J-Tunes in 2007.
In addition to singing, Jung is popular for his television and movie acting, which includes the hit TV series “Full House” and the latest Park Chan-wook film “I’m a Cyborg, but That’s Okay.”
Jung also had a role in the Wachowski brothers’ latest film, “Speed Racer.”
At a media gathering today, Jung and J-Tunes also announced that Jung has recently signed to the William Morris Agency to be represented for the world, excluding Asia.
