Eric Nicoli, chairman of EMI Group, is one of the keynote speakers at the two-day MidemNet Forum, the new media event which takes place during the 40th edition of MIDEM, the international music industry trade show in Cannes, France on Jan. 21-22.
Nicoli will be keynote guest from the music industry at the MidemNet Music and Technology conference on Jan. 21.
Also speaking at the digital-music and technology Forum that day will be Ken Lombard, president of Starbucks Entertainment.
The Seattle-based coffee chain has recently hit the headlines for winning controversial digital-distribution deals involving major acts such as Bob Dylan.
Another industry stalwart contributing to the Jan. 21 event is Paul Burger, former managing director of Sony Music Europe and currently chairman of U.K. digital-rights-management solutions company Blueprint.
During MidemNet Mobile, the following day’s conference devoted to mobile music, keynote guest Patricia Langrand, France Telecom’s senior VP of content acquisition will discuss developments among telecommunication carriers.
Anssi Vanjoki, executive VP and general manager multimedia at Nokia, the world’s biggest handset manufacturer, will examine the progress being made to wireless distribution by device makers.
Meanwhile, the organizers at Reed MIDEM are offering a 50% plus discounted rate for delegates who register before the Nov. 1 deadline for MIDEM, the main music trade show on Jan. 22-26.
