Prepare the motorcade and cue the champagne. Techno’s royalty have reunited.
Returning to Carl Cox‘s Intec court, where she released her Beatport chart-topping “Roar” last year, dark techno queen Nicole Moudaber has delivered a nuanced and hypnotic remix that marks one of her strongest showings to date.
“It’s got a German title, ‘Kommen Zusammen,’ which means come with me,” says Moudaber. “I wanted to have a mix that’s deeper and more hypnotic, which is very German-sounding, especially in clubs like Berghain. It’s not your commercial crossover remix; this is proper techno for the discerning ear and those who are clued up on this scene.”
While the original track first appeared on Cox’s 2011 artist album All Roads Lead to the Dancefloor, it has never sounded fresher than it does reflected through Moudaber’s brooding and percussive prism. Her reinterpretation is both patient in approach and effective in execution, showcasing the veteran production poise she’s derived from a diverse background that includes formative years in Nigeria and Lebanon.

The remix marks the latest in a series of collaborations between the two techno titans, who have forged an evolving symbiotic relationship. In addition to previous projects, Cox and Moudaber joined forces on their See You Next Tuesday EP, which was released on Moudaber’s MOOD Records imprint earlier this year.
“Carl was the one that supported my music early on and he was the first to play practically everything I produced on his radio show, Global Radio,” says Moudaber. “He showed the world what I was capable of and now we are stronger than ever, producing together as well as playing several clubs and festivals around the world. We speak the same musical language.”
Nicole Moudaber’s remix of Carl Cox’s “Kommen Zusammen” will be available Aug. 18 through Intec Digital.
