Producer/DJ/labelhead Nicolas Jaar has just shared the fourth installment of his Nymphs series of 12″ releases — called “Fight,” the eight-and-a-half minute track was introduced only by Jaar’s cryptic tweet, “This nymph swam to gent.” Listen below:
Beginning with a low rumble, “Fight” builds slowly — first with layers of twangy synths, and then eventually with some more dancefloor-ready glitches and gurgles. A chopped-up voice (presumably Jaar’s) joins, mostly unintelligible until the track’s climax: an interpolation of the last line of Beyonce and Sean Paul‘s “Baby Boy” (“so don’t you fight it”).

Jaar has already had a busy 2015, releasing surprise album Pomegranates as well as the previous two entries in the Nymphs series — all while managing his own label Other People and somehow finding the time to score the Palm D’Or-winning film Dheepan.
