Mugler creative director Nicola Formichetti’s menswear show walked in Paris on Wednesday, and while the collection had its share of futuristic charm, it lacked a certain Lady’s touch, so to speak. This was Formichetti’s third men’s show for the label, and for the very first time, the music was not cut by Lady Gaga. Gasp!
Instead, Formichetti chose rapper Azealia Banks. This Harlem newcomer premiered her avant-electric house song “Bambi” at the show that was also featured in Mugler Men’s Fall/Winter 2012 runway film. Formichetti is also believed to have directed Azealia’s upcoming music video for “Liquorice.”
According to Mugler’s publicist, Banks was shot by Inez & Vinoodh for V magazine just last week, and signed with Universal just days ago. “God just dealt me a new hand today reaaaaaaaaaaallllly good hand,” Banks wrote on Twitter on Wednesday.
