Sensation, the high-concept mega-rave from The Netherlands, successfully launched in North America last year, but the hometown event is doing better than ever. Sensation Amsterdam sold out all 40,000 tickets in less than half a day. When it goes off this weekend on July 6, Holland’s own Nicky Romero headlines. However, if you can’t make it to Europe, Romero and perma-white-clad Sensation resident Mr. White are releasing a double-disc mix compilation later this week called “Sensation: Into The Wild.” You can preview Romero’s half here with this exclusive minimix below:
Featuring Romero’s own tune “Still the Same Man” as well as Fedde Le Grande’s “Long Way From Home” and Hard Rock Sofa’s diabolic “Rasputin,” this minimix is a rollicking preview of the Dutch house EDM set to bang through the festival.
Romero is on a roll right now – his tune with Avicii, “I Could Be The One,” went to number one in the UK and the track he co-produced for Rihanna and David Guetta, “Right Now,” is rising at radio after it got some major play during NBA finals.
Founded 20 years ago by ID&T, Sensation expanded to North America last year. After a successful event in Toronto last month, they’ll return stateside in the fall for a four-city tour beginning in San Francisco.
ID&T, the company behind Tomorrowland and upcoming US festival TomorrowWorld, was acquired by US live entertainment conglomerate SFX Entertainment in early 2013, who announced their plans for an IPO last week.
