After Rodgers visited the studio where David Guetta and Romero were working together, the unlikely project came together after the young Dutch producer asked his engineer to record the disco legend’s warm-up guitar licks.
“From the moment I met Nicky we were grooving,” recalls Rodgers. “Ten minutes after I wrote the first riff, he was building a beat!”
Ever expeditious, Romero threw together a demo version in just a half-hour. Rodgers was happy enough with his handiwork to invite the 27-year-old to his New York studio last November to finish the project off properly.
