
A-List DJs Nicky Romero and Hardwell got into a spat on Twitter earlier today — and it wasn’t even about music.

After Hardwell posted a picture of himself performing in front of an 8-bit self portrait, Romero responded with a very pointed subtweet that said, “Copying is the highest form of flattery” (presumably he meant, “Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery”). When fans asked him about the object of the not-so-subtle-dig, he again responded without names, implying that another DJ had copped his retro 8-bit look from earlier this year.

Hardwell caught the tweet anyway, though, and responded by saying it was actually Romero who had jacked his aesthetic — which obviously didn’t go over well with the latter DJ. See their full exchange below:
