It’s been five months since Nicky Romero has released new music, and while his imprint, Protocol Recordings, continues to release singles and remix packages at a steady pace, several fans have brought up Romero’s production absence.
The Dutch artist addressed their curiosity in an extensive letter, in which he opened up about his anxiety issues. Read the letter below:
Romero reveals that he has been suffering from anxiety for two and a half years, adding that he has seen 12 therapists and professionals in hopes of combating his personal issues. Fans quickly stood by his side, commending him for his brave approach on the matter, with some opening about their own struggles with anxiety.
Fortunately, the international DJ’s release hiatus may be coming to an end. After an eager commenter inquired about his unreleased collaboration with StadiumX, Romero replied that he plans to release it within a month.
